Infinite Complexity

As Pesic makes clear, Kepler’s goal was much like Bacon’s. Both men believed that humans are meant to discover the intricate secrets of nature. As Kepler states about nature, “For these secrets are not to be forbidden…” just as Bacon claims that knowledge of the natural world is unlimited for human beings. Kepler’s discoveries, though, reveal what to me is the beauty of science. Although Kepler’s theories of the solar system simplify and correct the Copernican system, his discoveries pave the way for several scientists (like Newton and Einstein) to discover even more complicated phenomena. Though Bacon, and possibly even Kepler, believed that man could eventually conquer nature, a modern perspective leads me to believe that nature’s intricacies are infinite
